Rome & a new Europe

Long ago, the Roman Empire was very big. Many people lived in its western lands. Later, Germanic groups moved into these lands. Some groups fought Rome, and some worked with Rome. In 476, the western empire ended.

New kings ruled parts of the old empire. They made new kingdoms. More people became Christians. Monks in the Church made copies of old books. Thanks to them, we can read some old ideas today.
